MSP430FR2633: TIDM-1021 performances at -40°C

Dear e2e support,

Could you confirm if our TIDM-1021 or similar ref design could work at -40°C (intended for a rugged outdoor application)?

Are there anything we should take care of, specifically (calibration, etc....)?

Regards,

  • Hi TISL,

The MSP430 device will operate down to that temperature as specified in the datasheet.  The Captivate software algorithm automatically tracks changes in sensor capacitance performs a periodic re-calibration as needed.  Therefore, the device can operate and maintain calibration across the operating temperature of the device.

  • Hi Dennis,

    Many thanks for your feedback.

We've also seen that a keypad application with our CapTIvate can work with different kind of gloves (video here).

Did we ever test it with winter gloves at -40°C? meaning relative high distance, at low temperature

    Regards,
