MSP430FR6043: USS configuration software update parameters issue

Part Number: MSP430FR6043

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

IAR program version: UltrasonicGasFR6043_02_30_00_01

Upper computer software version: Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center version 02_30_00_03

The header file is produced from the configuration software, copied to the engineering, written to the demo board, the acquired offset is too large, and the stability is not good. The offset is approximately 600~1500us.

However, after executing Request Update from the upper computer,  the offset changes become small and is stable, about –40 ps to 200 ps.

What is the difference between executing a Request Update and writing the Header file directly to the project?

Could you help resolve this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hi Cherry,

Actually, there are no different between  Request Update and Create Header, but you have to conpiler again when you change the header file.

Request Update command will send the parameter to MCU, and MCU will store those parameter into FRAM, and those change will take affect  immediately.

These data are still valid after power cycle because they are stored in FRAM.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

    Johnson
