MSP-EXP430G2: Cannot find MSP430 LaunchPad on CCS Cloud IDE

Part Number: MSP-EXP430G2

In the New Project Wizard, the CCS Cloud IDE cannot detect the MSP430 LaunchPad (MSP-EXP430G2).

(running on Windows 10 Pro, 21H1)

The error message says:

{"msg":"FET is already in use, idx = 0 ( 0: MSP DebugStack not initialized).","name":"HID0011:COM4","type":"error"}

I checked the device manager and the COM port is assigned as "MSP 430 Application UART (COM4)".

I previously installed the CCS for win64 but had a similar error then switched to the CCS Cloud.

Could someone give suggestions?

Hi Nobuyuki,

Have you use other IDE to develop MSP430 at the same times?

This error will occur if you use CCS & CCS Cloud IED in the same times.

I uninstalled CCS before running CCS Cloud, but the result was the same.

I tried CCS Cloud on another Macintosh, but the result was the same.

I have only one Launchpad thus I cannot try another one, unfortunately.

Just doubel check:

This can connect normally in CCS, but when use CCS Cloud, will encounter some issue?

And you use MSP-EXP430G2 or MSP-EXP430-G2ET?

I tested in my PC, anything looks OK.

Maybe there are some issue in browse environment, have you chane the browse and test again?
