MSP430F5525: SD card connection with MSP430

Part Number: MSP430F5525

Hello,
In the published SD card guide the links are shown as follows.

Is it valid for F161 series or can I apply for F5525 as well? Also, there is 3V in the display, and my circuit is fed with 3.3V. Does this change cause additional problems, do I need to add/remove anything?
Thanks in advance.

  • You will have to use the pins for the SPI port you decide to use. Check the device data sheet for those. CS can be pretty much any handy GPIO. The pullup on CS is pretty useless but you do want a pullup on SOMI just so you get a defined level when the SD card isn't driving it. Card detect is pretty useless unless you plan to swap cards.

    There is a point in the initialization process where you tell the card what voltage you are providing. 3.0V to 3.3V is pretty standard.

  • CD pin cancel, first pullup cancel but there will be a pull up below in DO right?

    Also, my RST pin is needed for jtag, but here with pull up;
    Is it okay if I don't put the pull up here? Or can i connect the right side as i want without RST, AVss, Avcc and capacitor?

    Finally, I did not understand the swap cards part, I will insert and remove the same card, it does not need that pin, right?

  • Hi Nurdan,

    The reset pull-up is not related to the SD card interface.

    Evan
