MSP430FR6047: Temperature compensation

Part Number: MSP430FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1019

Dear Team;

The program not have temperature calibration segment.

But I saw some screenshoot on e2e.ti forum, which have it.

Is there no need temoerature calibration?

Any help?

  • Hi OOMAR,

Yes, the default example code don't include temperature calibration function.

We provide a tools to generate a calibration table, this table need calibrate by user.

And actual, lots of user will design their calibration table by themself, they just use the dTOF and AbsTOF data.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

  • Hi Johnson,

    Thank you for your reply,

TI Designs: TIDM-1019 - Ultrasonic Sensing Subsystem Reference Design fo Water Flow Measurement

"algrorithm is insensitive to temperature variation"

I do not undestand exactly, what is it mean?

  • Hi OOMAR,

We use a cross-correlation algorithm to calculate the dTOF time, so the temperature changes will affect transducer's waveform (such as amplitude), but this only have little effect for algorithm, so our algorithm is not sensitive to temperature.
However, the temperature will affect the transmission speed of the sound wave. For this problem, some customer needs to calibrate it, especially in the heat meter application.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

    Johnson
