Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

programmer : MSP-GANG

mode : BSL

The 9 of 200pcs boards download failed, and the program is empty when using MSP-GANG to read it from chip at this time.

These boards are mounted in the same batch of SMT. These MCUs are the same batch as well.

The specific error reported by the MSP-GANG programmer is as follows:

Yes, it will happen again. And when this customer executed 'program' individually, even the display is 'pass', but the program is also empty which is read from MCU.

The error is same whatever using which programing port in MSP-GANG.

I searched on forum

I can see one thread on Error 58 verification failed on MSP-gang

from this previous thread, the issue is related with software version.

Could you please check with customer if they are using the latest version of software?

at the same time, May I know if this gang programming tool is first time used on customer sides or not?

and what kind of MCU adptor board are used?

Hi Xiaodong,

The version of software is shown here.

This MSP-GANG isn't first time used on customer sides. This customer used it to program MSP430F5418A,5438A,5342, and it works. But it is first time for MSP4305244. The pin37(RST/NMI) is floating. He flashed another 100 boards from the same batch by using SBW mode. And all of the flashing are based on blowing the fuse and powered by MSP-GANG.

The adaptor board that this customer used I guess is like MSP-TS430RGC64C target board according to his description. And it has been used without problems.

I can see customer are using version 1.3.0 GUI software

from this previous thread, please update to the latest version 1.03.06 and have the try.

I suggested and this customer already updated it to the latest version. The error still exist.

Thanks for your feedback! because the software has been checked, let's consider the adptor board problem

I can see MSP430F5244 is the 48-pin device with VQFN (48) package. So, MSP-TS430RGC64C target board can't be used.

And you mentioned "The pin37(RST/NMI) is floating" on the previous post. I think this is abnormal
