MSP430F5632: MSP low-power microcontroller forum

Part Number: MSP430F5632
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5358,

Hi,

In our new project, We would like to replace MSP430F5358 with MSP430F5632.Almost all pin are compatible with new IC other than USB pins. And in MSP430F5358 those pins are as LDOI and LDO0 and  V18 and PUR pin are NC in this.

Presently LDOI is GND and all others are NC.

We are using MSP430F5632IPZ part as Board Management Control and we don't use USB BSL (only JTAG/UART). Can we leave that pin unconnected or do i need to connect.

Kindly share the recommended scheme/connections for those pins..

Please share your thoughts in replacing the part/is this compatible...?

Kindly support.

  • Hi,

Any unused pin should follow chapter 1.6 in user's guide table.

  • Hi Allen Gao,

Thanks for the reply, i am clear about the unused pins.

Could please suggest whether we can use  MSP430F5632 instead of MSP430F5358, other than the memory changes and I2C,SPI number changes.

  • Hi Divya,

The general purpose I/O  is the same name. But I don't know your multiplexing function of each. There is little different between these two device of the multiplexing function. So you many check the multiplexing function of each pin you are using in your system. If they are the same, you can replace it.
