    Hello Rakesh,

    Thanks for posting on E2E! Typically gas meters will use transducers anywhere from 200kHz to 500kHz. But depending on the device you are using to drive the transducer you may be limited. Do you have a device in mind in order to drive the transducer?

    Hello Isaac,

    Thank you for your reply, We are exploring ultrasonic means to measure the amount of flow of domestic liquid petroleum gas in India.

    The contents of LPG are as follows

    propane

    propyelene

    butane

    isobutane

    butylene

    kindly assist us in the selection process of a proper transducer(and its frequency) for the mixture of the above gases.

    The device or ICs that we are using is 1. TDC1000, TDC7200, MSP430FR series.

    Thanks for the information. I dont have much experience measuring the gasses mentioned but as mentioned if you are measuring them in the gas form the typical frequencies I have seen have been in the range of 200kHz to 500kHz.

    We have a list of transducers that we have used in that frequency spectrum that could help you get started which you can look at here: https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slac787

    As far flow sensing goes, MSP430FR do provide the most accurate solution hence why this is the main device recommendation for flow sensing. TDC1000 and TDC7200 are capable of flow sensing measurements but some device bugs prevent it from being extremely accurate like the MSP solution. I do not service the MSP430FR series of devices but it might be worth it to make a post specifically for the MSP430FR on the forum to see if an engineer that works with those device has more recommendations on transducers that may work with that device.
