MSP430FR2512: What to do about captivate solutions?

Part Number: MSP430FR2512

Hi There,

I have a design that was originally made to rely on captivate. However, due to chip shortages I've had to come up with a new design that does not use captivate. It's been a year since I've made that switch and I'm shocked to see that it is still basically impossible to get MSP430FR2512 or anything I can find really.

What are customers who rely on captivate advised to do? I should note that I've also had to abandon the wireless MCU my solution was based on, the CC3220, due to the fact it has been unobtainable. :(

I'd love to be able to use captivate but I'm not sure what (reliable) options are available to me at this time.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

MSP430 CapTIvate devices is the recommended capacitive touch solution from MSP, and the only capacitive touch solution supported.  For questions about stock or chip shortages, please inquiry with your local TI Sales representative. E2E is not the proper forum for such discussions.
