MSP430F21x2 vs MSP430G2x33

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2132, MSP430G2533

Hello guys,

During development I reach the end of flash of the MSP430F2132 ( 8KB, 32QFN) and I would like to change it with MSP430G2533 ( 16KB, 32QFN)
Are there any complication with that? I use in the current system LPMs, I2C, SPI, both timers ... no comparators.

Thank you very much for your fast response.

Best regards,
Alexandar

  • Hello,

The main change will be in Hardware - because the pinouts between the 2 devices you mentioned are not pin-pin compatible.

Other than that almost all of the peripherals are the same (one extra timer CCR block on the G2xx device); the devices also share the clock system and other system modes.

so the firmware migration should be fairly simple.

  • Hello Priya,

Thank you for your fast reaction.

    One final question:

I check the specification of G version ( more flexable LPMs) and the consumption under low power mode is a little bit less the F version. Am I right?

Are there big differences in consumption If you compare the low power mode between them?

    Best regards,

    Alexandar
