Can you tell me more about your setup? What do you have connected on the device’s RST pin? R=?, C=?

the pull up resistor is a 47K and the cap to ground is 0.1u. there is a button switch to reset the device to ground.

this reset (not) line goes to two other devices as well: TE512 and a CP2102.

Not sure if it is a typo - bouble check your cap value.  Should be 1 - 2.2nF, not 0.1uF

I made the cap on the reset line a 1 nf and the msp430f2272 still registers on the FET as DEVICE UNKNOWN.
