URGENT help on debugging MSPF2013 w/ MSP-FET430UIF error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2012

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to the MCU world, and have been trying to teach myself micro-controllers for my undergraduate research.

I am using CCS v 4.1 MCU edition as an IDE (?)

The MCU is TI's MSP430F2012 and 2013. Moreover, I have an interface MSP-FET430UIF with a demo board MSP-TS430W14. Excuse me if my terminology is incorrect.

Right after installing CCS, I tried to debug and run the "flip the LED" example. However, whenever I try to debug the program, I get the following error:

Error connecting to the target:
No MSP430 device was found on USB FET 1

To resolve this, I have done the following with no results:

1) The interface is installed correctly as my device manager shows it is there under the LPT and COM port

2) The lights on the UIF are on (red-red-and then it goes to green).

3) I have double checked the orientation of the pin, and it is correct.

I am attaching a screen shot of the problem. If anyone can help me out with it, it will be really great!

Thanks,

UE
