MSP-GANG: Checksum problem with GANG programmer

Hello, I would like to ask two questions about checksum.

①Is there any way to read the checksum displayed on the screen from the GANG programmer by using the communication command?

② I looked up "MSP Gang Programmer User's Guide: 2.1.13 Checksum Calculation" for the calculation of the checksum, and the checksum calculation skips the numbers after "@ FFFC". Each program has different parts, how do I know which parts need to be skipped?

Hi,

To answer your first question, there is no direct command that will allow you to display the checksum from the device but you can use the GUI to view the checksum value, which uses the method described in section 2.1.13. There is a function for verifying code described in section 4.2.30 of the MSP-GANG User's Guide but it will not return the checksum.

To answer your second question, the Checksum calculation is not including the part of the file below @FFFC because it is not a part of the main code memory for the device.
