MSP430L092: The errata concerns commands that do not exist according to the data sheet?

Part Number: MSP430L092

I'm using a large project with the MSP430L092 as the µC.

Now I'm reading always the errata for the first time.

Now I found the difference between Errata (slaz445n.pdf) and the corresponding "MSP430x09x Family User's Guide" (slau321.pdf).

As an an example:
Errata say: CPU46
{POPM performs unexpected memory access and may cause VMAIFG to be set}
But this command does not exist in the slau321.pdf?!?
In the data sheet of µC (SLAS673) write "– Extended instructions".
is this like an XV2 CPU without 20bit registers?
Am I using a wrong version of (slau321.pdf)?
Where can I read these advanced commands like "POPM" or "RLAM" ?

Please reply me, I think it's useful commands like "POPM" or "RLAM" and so on

that can extend MSP430L092's very limited memory

Thx

  • Hi,

The POPM command is an assembly instruction. If your are programming in C code, it would not affected by this issue.

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao

  • Thx yes i known
i program the MSP430 always in Assembler
"C" not support the Features of Enhanced Instructions and is not place efficient enough ;-)
But i can not find on  "MSP430x09x Family User's Guide" (slau321.pdf) anny Information over the Enhanced Commands.

In this way the Question  wil be repeatet:

Where can I read these advanced commands like "POPM" or "RLAM" ?
Is this a CPUX-V2 Like with only 16 Bit register?
