We would like to get familiarized with the metrology calculations as described in section 6.3.4 (page 45)

Can you provide information on the procedure for performing the required tests to compute this and other charts in the above document

Hi,

Thanks for the fast response.

We have been going through the same links as per earlier advises we received from TI.

However was not able find any specific information related to the setup, and performance of the metrology tests.

We procured the EVM, and could connect the GUI fort the calibration to the EVM and pefrom basic calibration with a reference meter.

The document the results of the metrology tests and we would like to perform the tests ourselves on the EVM first so that we are familiar with the procedures and later on our own design.

However, we are at loss to how to perform the tests like cumulative energy over a current range etc, both in terms of the required setup / equipment / software and the procedures

Any pointers specifically in this direction would be of real help.

Hello Preveen,

Once you have your setup completed with EMDC, you just have to run it and look at the Results tab to get your energy measurement results. See: https://software-dl.ti.com/msp430/msp430_public_sw/mcu/msp430/EnergyMeasurementDesignCenter/1_40_00_03/release/EnergyMeasurementDesignCenter_1_40_00_03/docs/users_guide/html/Energy_Measurement_Technology_Guide_html/markdown/ch_designcenter.html#view-results

EMDC only provides instantaneous results like you would use for an energy measurement application. You would have to store these results and plot them over time to get a graph like is shown in the EVM UG.
