LCD interface with Launchpad

Hi,

I am working on interfacing the 2x16 Module part no JHD162A with G2231 Launchpad kit, found some sample code from open source and successfully build.

But i tried to display the characters in second line but coludnt able to get. Anyone please help me with sample code or what changed to be made in the intialization to display in second line.

Hi Vageesh,

look at 'my files' (http://e2e.ti.com/members/1702574/files/default.aspx ) for sources on using a 16x2 LCD in 8-bit mode.

Look at this http://sites.google.com/site/cacheattack/msp-projects/msp430-launchpad-with-lcd-module#TOC-MSP430-Pin-Interface-to-LCD for 4-bit mode sources.

Be shure to initialize your LCD for 2 lines (look at the HD44780 commands).

Hello!

It might be a little bit unrelated, but it is possible to use a small graphic display with LaunchPad.

One drawback is that you have to put the fonts in the flash, and you have only 2K for the 2231.

But it should be manageable to make a small measurement device and display data graphically.
