MSP-FET: Flash Write Error

Hi Tarun,

This may be a hardware issue. have you followed the connections for 2-pin Spy-Bi-Wire from the Hardware Tools User's Guide?  Specifically Figure 2-2?

How long are your JTAG connection cables, and have you ever programmed with this setup sucessfully? 

Also, is the error always given for address 0xC000, or do you see other addresses as well?

Yes, I have followed the 2pin Spy-Bi-Wire connections. I have already programmed the MSP430 ICs from the same MSP-FET programmer before.

But this time the same MSP-FET giving this error.

Yes, error is always given for address 0xC000.

For cross-check I read the program from pre- programmed MSP430 IC, and i was able to read the program from same programmer successfully but couldn`t program the same IC(face the same error). 

Also, I have tried several MSP430 ICs to program but the same error occurs while programming.

Interesting, you should try to build and load one of our MSP430G2553 examples: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?devices=MSP430G2553&devtools=MSP430G2553&node=A__ACvl24LPcyzWt7pc791dzA__msp430ware__IOGqZri__LATEST

If you can load one of these then we know for sure the problem isn't your JTAG connection, and is probably something to do with the code itself you are trying to load.

I have tested with your suggested code, but it does not work, got the same error.

While I also read a preprogrammed IC and it was successfully read.

Attaching both the image Code write error and Code read successfully.

It seems to me then that the JTAG connection are definitely okay. Is this a single IC/Board or does it happen with every MSP430G2553 you try to program?

This should be as simple as programming any other device with MSP-FET. Is this maybe a custom board you are programming? If so do you have a MSP-EXP430G2ET you can test with?
