MSP430F5310: Error connecting to the target

Hi,

I am tried to flash an example code on MSP430F5310. While on debugging it shows, Error connecting to the target: the debug interface to the device has been secured. I am using MSP-TS430RGC64B EVK and MSP-FET Emulation Tool. Do anyone know how to recover from this mode.

For setting fuse value to zero (unlock) in BSL flash segment can be used MSP-FET in combination with BSL Scripter on PC side. If fuse value is untouched and reported message is caused by uploaded erratic firmware than BSL mass erase (invoke with wrong password) should unlock device.

Actually we tried to customize MSP430F5310 bootloader. So during this trial and error if we touched on fuse value what should we do to unlock device.

With non-operational BSL and locked JTAG device is bricked. If your customized BSL is working than you can unlock BSL flash segments, and write four zero bytes at address 017FCh.
