MSP430FR2676: Bootloader - OTA clearing the Info memory

My customer is using the MSP430FR2676. 

They tried to OTA it and found out that they were clearing the Info memory.    

Their understanding is that the MSP430FR5xx and FR6xx series parts do not erase information memory.  But the MSP430FR23xx, 24xx, and 26xx, do erase information memory.

 

Their OTA process currently uses a mass erase command prior to writing.  One of their options is to read all the information, perform the update and then send the information memory back. 

Customer is wondering if TI can suggest any other tricks that would allow them to not have to read and re-write information memory. Perhaps a way move the needed values to a different memory location?  Or using the memory protection to protect the information memory from being cleared on the mass erase command.
