MSP-FET: MSP FET keep asking for firmware update

Im back to using CCS, its been a 4-5 years, i maybe making a simple mistake.

we have a MSP FET

Each time we build the project, it asks to update the firmware on the MSP FET

Whether we click update or not, it asks for this every time

yes, I can click ignore, but there has a be a solution or something else wrong

Hi Jim,

Is this MSP-FET also 4-5 years old?

When you click ignore does the device flashing occur as expected?

You could try the cold boot/recovery steps from section 5.6.5.3 of the MSP Debugger's User's Guide (SLAU647).

Hi Jim,

Before you try the recovery step, can you also try flashing a program using either Uniflash (https://dev.ti.com/uniflash/), or CCS Cloud (https://dev.ti.com/ide/).

Those should also be capable of updating your MSP-FET, and will not include any installation issues you may have had with CCS if that is the source.

The error finally went away. Im not sure what was causint it.

I will try this if it comes back
