We have built custom board single phase evm, i had uploaded the results from the Board with reference power meter (0.02% Accuracy) we are getting an error of 2% in Active Power can we reduce this error % Meter_Voltage_Current_0603.xlsx
Hello,
For a custom board, a lot of things can cause an error in Active Power. For power metering, my guess would be an issue with calibration. There are some instructions on how to calibrate a device in chapter 6 of this Application Note.
Would you be willing to post your schematic? That way I can help determine what else could be causing your error.
Thank you,
Susan
Hello,
Thank you for the schematic images. I took a look, and I wonder if the issue is in the current sensing. I would recommend checking your line and your neutral currents. You can also refer to the Implementation of a Single-Phase Electronic Watt-Hour Meter Using MSP430F6736(A) Application Note section 3.2.2.
If your current is accurate, I would also check your voltage sensing and phase calibration for accuracy.
Outside of that, I also noticed these things about your schematic:
The capacitor on AUXVCC3 is 4.7 microFarad instead of the recommended 0.47 microFarad.
VASYS1/2 has 2 4.7 microFarad capacitors while the datasheet only recommends one.
DGND is connected to pin 77, but I believe it is supposed to be connected to pin 76.
Hopefully this helps,
Susan Moore
