MSP430FR4133: Default factory value in FRAM memory?

Part Number: MSP430FR4133

What is the expected value in an FRAM memory location before the device is first programmed by user?

I'm specifically interested in INFORMATION MEMORY locations.

Is this specified anywhere? I can't find it in either the family or device datasheets.

Empirically is it 0xff on all parts I've tested, but is this specified?

Hi Josh,

It isn't specifically specified, but after the testing the device's main and information sections would be erased. The only area that wouldn't be erased is the TLV data as that is calibration and device specific information. The TVL location and description can be found in the datasheet table 9-27.

"Erased" is meaningless for FRAM. Except in the sense that programming software tends to write FRAM with 0xFF so it looks like erased flash memory.

I've confirmed that the information FRAM contains all 0xff in a sample of MSP430FR4133 chips fresh from the factory.

It would be nice if this was specified somewhere so we could depend on this condition.
