MSP430G2553: Secure the Microcontroller

Part Number: MSP430G2553
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-GANG, MSP-FET, MSP-FLASHER

Dear sir/madam,

We are using MSP430 and TM4C129ENCPDTI3R microcontroller for our new development project. With in next few months we plan to release the project for regular protection. So before release to regular production we want to secure the program in the controller using any any standalone programmer.

So kindly suggest the correct part number for above mentioned controllers and procedure to create the image files.

  • HiSenthilprabh,

For Standlone programmer, you can try use MSP-GANG for MSP430 and TM4C129.

MAP-GANG should include secure Microcontroller function.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Johnson,

     Thanks for replying.

By using this software how to create a image file and flash the MCU using MSP gang programmer standalone.

I think this not support TM4C series MCU.

       Kindly do need full us.

  • Hi Senthilprabh,

You can generate .txt file in CCS:

Then load this image into MSP-GANG, click Go button is OK.

I think use XDS110 for TM4C mass production.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

From hardware side only master tools that are able to generate 6.5V VPP can be used for blowing MSP430G2xx JTAG fuse. MSP-FET (open source) for example.

From software side any TI solution based on msp430.dll (open source) can be used for blowing MSP430G2xx JTAG fuse. MSP-Flasher (open source) for example.
