MSP430FR5969-SP: MODOSC Frequency drift/accuracy with radiation and aging

Hi,

I was unable to find this anywhere here on the forums, or in literature here or elsewhere. I need to know if the frequency range specified on the datasheet includes any aging or radiation? Would the MODOSC on the space-hard MSP430 stay within the the specified 3.75 MHz to 5.5 MHz over TID/neutron as well as temperature and with life testing?

I don't know personally, but I believe so. I'll look around the Quality and Reliability pages a bit to see if I can find something specific for MIL/Space grade devices outside of the TID radtiation report.

Also Charles, if you go to the MSP430FR5969-SP product page and click "Ordering and Quality" it'll take you to the ordering table. you can scroll right and see all the quality/test reports for the package you are interested in.

That's going to be the best data available on the reliability testing we have outside of the TID report.

Finally, There is Figure 4-1 in the datasheet is a Lifetime Derating Chart for the FR5969-SP.

So, in essence, as long as we're operating below this derating line, we can expect to stay within the spec in the datasheet?

Hey Charles,

Yes, that is my understanding. The actual tests we run to and the standards are listed on the reliability page I linked, but this chart is giving an estimation of what that looks like vs Junction Temp (which for low power MSP is practically the same as device temp.)
