MSP430FR6043: The values are not accurate

Part Number: MSP430FR6043

Hi team,

1) Place a piece of pipe in still clear water, use ADC Capture to capture the full waveform, the absolute time of flight in Waveforms is 58.12us. The distance between the transducers is 72 mm. The room temperature is 20C, and the water is indoors, and the exact degree is unknown. How to read the data?

From this, the calculation process can be found: V = s / t = 0.072 / 0.00005812 = 1238 m/s, whereas the ultrasonic wave speed in water is 1450 m/s, the difference is a little big. How tp handle it?

2) In the routine MSP430FR6043EVM_USS_Water_Demo, how does the iq44DeltaTOF、iq40TotalTOF_UPS、iq40TotalTOF_DNS、iq16VolumeFlowRate、iq16Temperature in algResFixed correspond to Delta TOF, absolute TOF, Volume Flow rate in the waveforms tab of the USS GUI software?

Customer understands that iq44DeltaTOF corresponds to Delta TOF, iq40TotalTOF_UPS, iq40TotalTOF_DNS corresponds to absolute TOF, The iq16VolumeFlowRate corresponds to the Volume Flow rate, and assuming this is right:

A. Why does -129464 in iq44DeltaTOF correspond to a point like 32 in Delta TOF?

B. Why does the 77026092 in iq40TotalTOF_UPS correspond to 58.12 of absolute TOF and the 77027416 in iq40TotalTOF_DNS also correspond to 58.12 of absolute TOF?

C. How to understand the 47902 of iq16Temperature, how many degrees Celsius does it represent, and how to calculate it?

If the above understanding is wrong, could you help tell in the program, where can they see Delta TOF, absolute TOF, Volume Flow rate values in the USS GUI? And how to read the values of temperature?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
