MSP430FR5992: Bootloader Code

Hello Abhisek,

Take a look at slaa760, MSP430 Bootloader with Sitara Embedded Linux host as an example.

If you look in section 2.1, there is a link to download the source code.

I have downloaded that source code and I have taken one blinky example of msp430fr5994 in txt format and converted that into MSP430 FRAM firmware image using the python scripter as provided in the source code and placed that in the image folder of UART_BSL_MSP430FR.

Then I transferred UART_BSL_MSP430FR files to beagle bone board using pscp as I am using msp430fr5994 eval board for testing it.

Then I build all that .c files in that folder using gcc commands.

I got an executable file as msp aftter building all these files and when I am running it using "sudo ./msp" command its getting stuck.

I am attaching the screenshots also. Just let me know if you have some findings.

I have made the pin connection between msp430fr5994 and beaglebone board correctly according to the document.

Do I need to mention fram_termination, fram_start, fram_finish and fram_length in this python scripter code for my msp430fr5994 blinky example code .I have attached the screenshot of python scripter code also. Please let me know if any change I have to make.

That is good question. It doesn't appear you need to.  According to the documenation, slaa760, the python scripts will convert either a *.txt or *.hex output from a build into the proper header format.  See section 5.3.

Unfortunately, we don't have anyone on our team with Linux experience nor a Linux platform to setup and attempt to duplicate what you see.  This application note was written some time ago and the author is no longer available for help.  I am asking around to see if someone here has a beagle bone and if I can find one I'll see what I can do.  I also reached out to our Shanghai applications team to see if perhaps they have someone that can assists us.  Unfortunately, both will take a few days.
