EVM430-FR6043: VFR Flow + Temperature Calibration & FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code

Hello,

I am using EVM430-FR6043 and Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center GUI to design a gas flow meter. When I select EVM430-FR6043 Gas as the meter option, VFR Flow + Temperature Calibration is disabled (Every part in the VFR Flow + Temperature Calibration tab is greyed out). Is there a way to use this feature for the EVM430-FR6043 Gas meter? Why is this calibration mode blocked in this mode? Is there a specific reason why this section is disabled for the EVM430-FR6043 gas meter?

I was looking through the TI USS library and the template code and found a few functions such as USS_calculateVolumeFlowRate, USS_initialSearchQuad, and USS_calibrateVFRFlowTemperature which I am assuming are used in VFR Flow + Temperature Calibration feature. I would like to know if the FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code is the same as the one already loaded on EVM430-FR6043 and whether I could gain access to the VFR Flow + Temperature Calibration feature if I design my code utilizing these functions. Since EVM430-FR6043 successfully connected to the Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center and is functioning, I assumed that the board came with the default code loaded onto it. Is this the same code/program as FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example? Will the board and the GUI work the same as now even when I load FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code again to EVM430-FR6043 using CCS?

  • We do not provide the calibration for gas meter that is why it is greyed out.

    So the calibrations provided by the GUI are only for the water/liquid flow meter? 

    How about USS_calculateVolumeFlowRate, USS_initialSearchQuad, and USS_calibrateVFRFlowTemperature functions that are present in FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code? Are they also only to be used for the water/liquid flow meter? 

    Also, is the FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code the same as the application that came with EVM430-FR6043? In other words, if I build and load the FR6043_USSSWLib_template_example code and load it onto the EVM430-FR6043 board, will the board function with the GUI and output similar values as it is now?
