MSP-GANG: MSPM0 programming settings to not clobber nonmain

I have a customer running the latest MSP-GANG software (v1.03.08). When programming an application on a custom board with MSPM0L1306 without nonmain memory configuration they brick the device and it's necessary to use the DSSM GUI tool to factory reset the device to restore functionality. 

The programmer fails with error 58, flash verification failure, and afterwards is not programmable and the application does not run even though it says programming successful:

However, using the same application file, but now with nonmain write enabled in the secure device options with the values as defined in the programming image, we were able to verify that programming and verification succeeds and the application is running. This seems to imply that nonmain is being impacted somehow even when the secure device option is left unchecked.

We tried multiple erase settings with Main memory erase as well as just erasing the memory needed for the application and both failed verification in the same way. 

On the read side, the msp-gang was configured to read all memory.

What's the recommended setting to program if customer does not want to set non-main memory?
