Please tell me if it is possible.

First of all, I would like to know if 1 is possible, and if so, I would like an idea for 2.

For example, let's say you use MSP430 on the board.

Connect the wireless transceiver to the MSP430 for serial communication.

At that time, I would like to retrieve the update data from the PC, disassemble the device, and use wireless communication without having to connect via JTAG.

What I want to ask is,

1:Can I connect a wireless transceiver to MSP430?

2:If I can connect a wireless communication transceiver to the device, can I use the wireless controller to send update data from the PC to the device?

Is it best to design a board that has a USB connector and a wireless controller?

Yes you can. This is a fairly common practice for allowing over-the-air updates for MSP430 or other MCUs without wireless communication capabilities. You would just need the wireless transceiver to be able to invoke BSL mode of the MSP430, and then send the correct communication packets over your BSL interface of choice (for the MSP430F6769A UART is the default BSL option).

Yes you can. The first application note linked above uses a CC1111 USB RF access point that is essentially what you are proposing. That board is probably outdated now, but someone over on the wireless forums may have an idea of a more modern alternative that suits your desired wireless protocol, or you could try to design one of your own.

While a more powerful processor and more battery draining, you might also look at TI's microcontrollers with RF built in like the CC1310

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for answering.

It turns out that you can configure the MSP430 to use BSL mode for wireless communication.

I also referred to the reference data sheet, but it is updated using non-volatile memory instead of FRAM, although the speed is slower.

Search or ask on wireless forums for something like the CC1111 USB RF Access Point. By the way,

as I told Brandon, my image was that a device like the eZ430-RF2500 would connect to a PC's USB terminal and read data,

and the wireless transceiver connected to the MCU would receive that data. If anyone knows, please let me know.

I want a communication distance of at least 10m.
I think performance is more important than power consumption.
I will consider using the controller you suggested.
