Hi Champ,

I am asking for my customer.

The current customer's requirement is 5 touch buttons as shown, so MSP430FR26x/FR25x with Cap technology should be the candidate.

As one of the functionality requires one button to open virtual keyboard, few questions and TI solution would like to ask.

(1). Is there a possible way to have FR26x/FR25x interface convert to USB interface and connected to the host ?

(2). Can MSP430FR26x and MSP430FR25x be simulated as a USB keyboard key ? For the USB keyboard key requirement, I should have one more MSP430F55x (two chips solution) added, correct ? Any better TI total solution ?

Not directly. Customer would need to use a USB MCU, such as MSP430F5529 family, connected to the MSP430FR26x\25x through I2C or UART.

Hi Dennis,

Thanks for the timely reply.

The architecture would be touch pad - FR2532 - via UART/I2C - F5529 - via USB - host (x86).

So, if the user presses one of the buttons on the touch pad (button to enter the bios settings), it will receive a button with the USB HID ID "del" on the host. When user presses this key during the boot, it will enter the bios. Does it sound like feasible ?

If yes, is it possible to customize some combo keys, such as: Ctrl + Win + o ?
