MSP430G2744: MSP-GANG, Apply DCO calivration

DCO Calibration Data is in Flash Information Memory Segment A according to device data sheet Table 6-10. DCO Calibration Data.

So, I think always select these 2 options should be recommended.

Thank you for your support. I want to know more details with exact behaviors.

With my understanding, DCO calibration data has been stored in INFO-A segment as described in datasheet Table 6-10. MSP-GANG GUI tools can select erased or left unmodified INFO-A by “Include locked INFO-A” selection menu. Customer doesn’t check “Include locked INFO-A”, so INFO-A is unmodified.

 Question1: Is this my understanding correct?

 Question2: What has happened when selecting "Apply DCO calibration..." under above setting?

 Question3: Why customer see differences (fail or success to erase/write) by selecting "Apply DCO calibration..."?

if user dones erase INFO-A segment, DCO calibration data will not be modified

But customer want to know the GANG writer’s behaviors regarding the “Apply DCO calibration..." setting, because no document description. I think we don’t need customer setting information.

The differences between selecting “Apply DCO Calibration” is

 Select: Success write operation and work correctly in customer system.

 Not select: Success write operation but not work in customer system

So customer need to select “Apply DCO Calibration”, but customer want to know why?

I checked the MSP Gang Programmer (MSP-GANG) User's Guide (Rev. Q).

there is the description:

MSPGANG_Interactive_DCO_Test takes data from INFO memory location 0x10F8 to 0x10FF, writing one selected word to DCO registers and checking the DCO frequency in real time for up to eight targets simultaneously. Test results in kHz are saved in the *result_in_kHz buffer

I think the programmer has takes data from INFO memory before erase operation. if INFO memory has been erased, if “Apply DCO Calibration” is selected, the programmer will write the calibration value back to info memory.

Thank you. I understand the behavior with INFO memory erased.

But customer has not selected “Include locked INFO A”, it means erase/write operation has not been done for INFO-A. Is this correct?

So, if INFO memory has “not” been erased, if “Apply DCO Calibration” would be selected, what would the programmer do?

Note that customer said if not selected, it’s not work correctly in customer system.
