This one is for the TI employees: Is there an established timeline for when the MSP430FR parts will be available through the major distributors? (MSP430FR5739 in the TSSOP package, for example)

The parts should be available in the XMS silicon through distributors today. You can order free samples online from TI today, or you can buy them from places like Digikey right now. http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Cat=2556109&k=msp430fr5739

All of the device configurations will be available at the end of October.

Is there any update available on when distributors will actually get parts? It looks like all of the FRAM parts still are unreleased, preview status even though they can be ordered.

We have had parts on order since August and the delivery date keeps slipping

I agree. All of the suppliers have zero inventory of any MSP430FR parts every time I check.

So I spoke too soon! We once again should have samples available for free on TI.com/samples next week. We will definitely have production quantities soon so that you will see them at distributors. Until then, please take advantage of small quantities of the XMS430FR5739 pre-release silicon on our free samples website.

At least for me, the free sample website no longer has XMS430FR5739 or any 430 FRAM parts. We were given a ship date of Mid April for the 24 VQFN versions . Jacob, Are some versions scheduled to ship earlier than others?

I can't comment on your personal ship date because there are a lot of moving parts between TI and the distributor you ordered from, but there are different releases for the different package types. Your date is probably accurate.

If you have a TI sales rep or distributor sales rep, we can provide you samples of that package type if you have them contact us.
