EVM430-FR6047: Frequency sweep

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047

Hi,

I'd like to know if the frequency sweep I'm measuring with my sensors is correct. According to the MSP Academy - Ultrasonic Water Flow Meter Design and Testing website, the frequency sweep I should be capturing would look something like this:

However, I see that there is a big difference with what I am capturing:

I'm measuring water flow and using 1MHz transducers.

  • Hi Julia,

The above sweep was also taken with a 1MHz transducer, but the sweep is from 0.8MHz to 1.208MHz (1MHz +/- 200Khz), which lets you better see the peak output frequency of the transducer. Your sweep starts at 980KHz, which is probably too close to your Transducer's peak frequency to accurately capture the left hand side of the curve. It doesn't mean that the output you are getting is wrong or incorrect, just that you aren't going to see a curve like the one from the MSP Academy.

Try changing your F1 and F2 values in the Parameters tab of the GUI and run the sweep again.

    Best Regards,
    Brandon Fisher
