Hi Billal,
Can you send an image of your board when plugged in and powered on? I want to see the jumper configuration.
Also, how does the board appear in device manager when you connect it to your PC?
Best Regards,
Brandon Fisher
Hello Brandon,
Thank you for considering my request, here are images of my board plugged in and powered on. Note that the LED202 is blinking.
Here is how the board appears in device manager.
Best regards.
Billal MOUSSAOUI.
Hi Billal,
It looks to me like the board may have the production test firmware still loaded. Can you try flashing the latest version of the USS firmware as described in our Gas Meter Quick Start Guide (SLAU824)? Section 3 is the relevant portion.
Please note you will want to install the latest Gas Demo Application from here (https://software-dl.ti.com/msp430/msp430_public_sw/mcu/msp430/USSSWLib/USSSWLibGas/latest/index_FDS.html) so that the image appears in your TI folder as described in that document.
Best Regards,
Brandon Fisher
Hi Brandon,
I have already done everything just mentioned and as indicated on the document (Gas Meter Quick Start Guide) and I still get the message "waiting for device". Is there an other solution?
Billal,
Do you get any errors or messages when you attempt to update the firmware via Uniflash?
Have you used this board successfully before? It looks like you've done some modification to the passives on this board.
Best Regards,
Brandon Fisher
Hi,
No, I don't get any errors or messages when attempting to update the firmware via Uniflash. However, personally, I've never been able to successfully use this board before and I I haven't made any modifications to the board.
Best regards.
B.M.
Hi Billal,
You got this board from someone else then? Did they have it running to your knowledge? I ask because it does look like its been modified quite a bit by hand.
Do you have Code Composer Studio installed?
If so can you try importing the MSP430FR6043_USS_Gas_Demo Project into CCS and building and flashing it from there?
Best Regards,
Brandon Fisher
