MSP430F2419: Flash in linux without CCS

Hello TI,

I want to flash my msp430f2419 using the FET debugger. Whenever I use an application or program that uses MSP430_GetNumberOfUsbIfs I get Segmentation fault (core dumped).

Command: mspdebug tilib

Judging by the copyright message, that version of mspdebug is really old. Try pulling the latest version of the code from github.

Hello David, It works well in ubuntu16. Not for ubuntu20 I updated the mspdebug from 0.22 to 0.25 but still the same segmentation fault problem. Thank you for your support.

With Fedora 39 I see:

I updated my wsl to 2 Now it works for ubuntu 22.04 even the old version. Thank you Sir!

Hallo David,

I tried MSPflasher today on ubuntu 22.04 and 20.04 both works well. As long its wsl2. I didn't understand why they mentioned in the guide that it works only on up to ubuntu 16.04.. Anyways thank you very much! MSP Flasher user's guide (Rev. E) (ti.com) Page2 Compatibility

I had to search to find out what wsl is. Or at least a hint. (Windows Subsystem for Linux).

So it would appear to be a problem that happens when running Linux that way instead of the usual way.

Hi David,

you are right. It was a problem of virtual machine not linux.. Accessing usb is not automatic. It needs to be configured wiht powershell manually. The error codes were very bad.. SegmentationFault should be DeviceNot Found.. and DeviceNotFound should be PermissionError.. However Thank you very much.
