MSP430FR6047: EVM430-FR6047 USB TO I2C

Part Number: MSP430FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5528, MSP430WARE

Hello, I use EVM430FR6047
I see that there are 2 components that convert from USB to I2C.
M430F5528.

1) I want to request the code that performs this conversion, it can help me.

2) Why are there 2 such components in the EVM, it seems that only the upper one is connected and in use
And the lower one is for debugging purposes or something like that, I would appreciate an explanation?

  • Hi Ido,

I am not aware of any process we have to share this code with customers. I will ask around on our team to see if we ever share this, and if so how I can share with you. I will update you as soon as I get a response, please ping this thread if I haven't let you know by the end of the week.

There are two MSP430F5528 parts on the device because one of them performs the typical debugging functionality, and one of them behaves as the HID bridge (USB to I2C). You can see a schematic showing the connections of each device on the TI Designs page for the EVM.

  • Thanks Ido,

I asked around about this and it looks like we provide some USB examples including an HID example. This can be found in the msp430 sdk at [SDK Install Path]\msp430ware_3_80_14_01\usblib430\MSP430_USB_Software\MSP430_USB_API\examples

So there is no application or request for this, it is just a bit buried in our SDK. Sorry for the delay on this.
