When trying to communicate over JTAG with FET-Pro430, I see:

JTAG communication initialization.... failed
Verifying Security Fuse ….. failed
--------------- FAILED !!! -----------------

I'm using a MSP-FET430 Flash Emulation Tool. I'm currently running 3.11.00.001 FET-Pro430(FET MSP430 Flash Programmer).

Any idea of what I could have done wrong that would block the JTAG from working?

I recommend using a different software tool as a test and sometimes the switch will help trigger the automatic firmware update.

Thanks for the quick response.

I tried through Uniflash programming software but the program does not detect any debug probes/devices.

But I was able select the device(Msp430F249) and select the debug probe as TI MSP430 USB 1, and updated the firmware version. After following these steps as in the mentioned E2E, I am getting the following error

Error connecting to the target: The Debug Interface to the device has been secured

May I know if you have one more MSP430F249 to test this method?

Could you please test if CCS www.ti.com/.../CCSTUDIO can connect FET-Pro430 and target MCU MSP430F249 normally
