MSP430F6779A: The DCO exceeds the programmed frequency in PMM12 Errata

Part Number: MSP430F6779A

How much exceeds the programmed frequency? In our case we use the SMCLK 25,165,824 Hz source from DCOCLK.

.

  • Hi,

This errata means that when MCU exiting from LMP3/4 to active. The DCO frequency is not stable and it is not at the programmed frequency at the first 6us.

We do not have an exact data about how much the DCO frequency is difference from programmed frequency.

  • Hi,

We are using SMCLK clock source module SD24 (ADC Sigma-Delta 24 bit), Flash (SPI UCA0), EEPROM Uart (I2C UCB0) and Timer A (TA2)

Is there a possibility that PMM12 can cause a serious error, such as the MCU stopping operations (freezing, crashing)?

  • Hi,

I do not see MCU stopping operations (freezing, crashing) description in PMM12. It should not causing these issue.

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao
