LP-MSPM0C1104: Connect XDS110 debug probe

Part Number: LP-MSPM0C1104

Hi team,

My customer want to connect to XDS 110 debug probe but the following error is showing.

CS_DAP_0: Error initializing emulator: (Error -260 @ 0x0) An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed. The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110 directory of your installation. View the XDS110SupportReadMe.pdf file there for instructions. (Emulation package 12.6.0.00029)

Do you have any step by step guide  on how to connect XDS110 debug for better user experience ?

I have tried to search for it but i could only find the following document which has no step by step guide.

XDS110 Debug Probe (ti.com)

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Kenley

  • Hello Kenley,

    According to the error reported by CCS, customer need to do:

    1). Check the device manager in the PC to check whether the XDS110 is correctly recognized;

    2). Check the connection of XDS110 and M0, customer can refer to the  XDS110 Debug Probe (ti.com) or LP-XDS110 Quick Start Guide (ti.com);

    3). update the firmware of XDS110, you can refer to the information of error reported by CCS: The firmware and serial number may be updated using the xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110 directory of your installation.

    4). You can try to use the XDS110 on the LauchPad to test whether the code can be download successfully.

  • Hi Janz,

    Thank you for your prompt response.

    It seems like customer could find the XDS110 in the PC device manager.

    Should customer download the driver? If yes, which driver ?

    Regards,

    Kenley

  • Hello Kenley,

    You can ask customer to do point 2) to point 4) as I just mentioned,

  • Hi Janz,

    Customer has tried to open the xdsdfu file in CCS folder but still there is no improvement.

    They still could not find the port in device manager.

    Best regards,

    Kenley

  • Hello Kenley,

    So customer can't find the port in device manager, right? I see you said that "It seems like customer could find the XDS110 in the PC device manager.", maybe you lose the "not". Yes, if customer can't find the port in device manager, they should download the driver which you can find and download from website, you can try to look for it on website, because this driver is not included in Ti's resources.

    Best Regards,

    Janz Bai
