Program stops running on launchpad after closing Code Composer Studio

I wrote a program for the MSP430G2231 on a Launchpad board that runs great from within Code Composer Studio 4.  As soon as I exit Code Composer Sutdio 4 the program appears to halt (LED no longer flashes.)

I have an alternate program that runs great while in CCS but when I close CCS the program continues to run on the Launchpad. 

Is there a setting that forces the Launchpad to stop when exiting CCS that I changed by mistake?
