LP-MSP430FR2476: How to use up-down timer

Part Number: LP-MSP430FR2476

Using the sample program "timer_a_ex6_upDownModeOperation" as a reference, how should I change the code if I want to use upDownMode and blink the LED at 2 second intervals?
In particular, how do you enable interrupts for upDownMode?

Also, is there a difference between upDownMode and continuousMode?
If there are any other different modes, please let me know.

  • Hello Ryota,

Timer Up mode counts from 0 up to the value in TAxCCRx, then repeats. (section 13.2.3.1)

Timer Continuous mode counts from 0 up to 0xFFFF, then repeats. (section 13.2.3.2)

Timer Up/Down mode counts from 0 up to the value in TAxCCRx, then counts down to 0, then repeats (section 13.2.3.4)

For the interrupts, use the CCIFG and TAIFG as described below.
