MSP430FR6043: Increased current when IO interrupt is enabled in LPM3

Part Number: MSP430FR6043

When entering LPM3 GIE mode on a self-made flowmeter board, 5.2 uA is consumed. However, if you change P2IE's BIT7 to 1 and enter LPM3 GIE mode and measure, 301uA is consumed.

Can you tell me why this is and how to solve it?

Thank you.

  • If the interrupt is activated before performing 'PM5CTL0 &= ~LOCKLPM5;', the interrupt flag is activated while unlocking.

When an interrupt occurs, the UART module becomes active, causing a rapid increase in current consumption.

Therefore, when the LPM3 GIE option is given, the UART's interrupt is activated and the UART operates, increasing current consumption.

    Thanks for your help.
