MSP-FET: "Error connecting to the target: Unknown device" Spy-Bi-Wire connection with DRV91670

Part Number: MSP-FET
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV91670,

Hi,

I'm having issues to detect the DRV91670 using MSP-FET, this emulator tool (MSP-FET) is detectable by de Code composer Version 12, but it doesn't detect the driver.

I based in this question for the connections: MSP430FR5849: MSP-FET430UIF Spy-Bi-Wire connection - MSP low-power microcontroller forum - MSP low-power microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums

And also notice this information:

MSP-FET: No USB FET was found - Can't reflash DRV91670T using CCSv6.1.2 - MSP low-power microcontroller forum - MSP low-power microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums

If you could provide me some feedback for this by email like the posted question above it will be very helpful.

Thanks!

  • Hi Carlos,

  • Hi Carlos,

As pointed out in the thread you linked, the MSP-FET does not support the DRV91670. Only the old MSP-FET430UIF can support debugging the DRV9x device family in CCS.

Officially, the MSP-FET430UIF supports the DRV9x devices up to CCSv6, and it requires a custom patch/DRV9x SDK to be installed over CCSv6.

Since these are legacy devices that we no longer promote actively for new designs, I will reach out to you via email for more specific information.

    Regards,
    Eric C.
