Hello,

First of all I would like to apoligize because this is my first post and I might posting in the wrong way.

My problem: I am a beginner to embedded coding, so if you could answer like you are talking to a 5 year old it would be great.

What I am trying: I am trying to control a 3 phase BLDC motor using a MSP430F5521 MCU and a DRV8300 driver.

I really don't know where to start this journey, I am trying to gather all the resources I can get (CCS Examples, MSP430Ware sources and etc.) but seems to be stuck on a wall I cannot climb.

I would appreciate anyone that can point me to the right direction. At this point I would accept any help/advice I can get.

Have you gotten a blinky to work?

Do you have any coding experience with C at all?

You will also need a four channel oscilloscope.

Do not expect to get this working within a week.

You need to generate 3 PWM signals and coordinate them.

You can start with a single PWM example and add to it from there.

Hi Dogan,

In the datasheet for the DRV8300 there is a typical application diagram to help you with how to make the connections between the two devices. Typically you will want alternating PWMs for your low and high side (you do not want both low and high to be on at the same time). See section 8.3.1.1 in the DRV8300 datasheet.

Depending on how you intend to do a setup, you may want to use the ADC for feedback information to adjust the PWMs in application runtime (this is the Rsense component of the typical application).
