Installing Grace

I have tried multiple times to install plug-in without success. I have taken note to make sure I carefully read the installation instructions and follow them. 

I am using MSP430F2619, my current CCS version is 4.2.4. The issue I am having is when I start CCS, nothing has changed, and when I make a new project and get to the point to selecting a template, I only have the standard templates and no Grace templates. 

Maybe I have read something wrong, or just missing a step.

    Hello Mitchell,

    If you select

    Help->about Code Composer Studio->Plugin Details

    do you see Grace in the list of plugins?

    I do not see it, but not quite sure what I am looking for. I looked for anything containing Grace, also filtered by version and I did not see anything that seemed to be Grace in the ver. 1 range. However it is under help > software updates > manage configuration, but I do not know if that is significant. 

     

    3. After installation is complete start CCS4.2.x. The IDE should detect the presence of the new Grace and XDCtools components and confirm that they should be installed.

    This has not happened. I have re-installed everything from the ground up 2 times, however I have yet to see anything different on start-up. 

     

    EDIT: Gave it one more shot on the uninstall and reinstall and for some reason it worked this time, though I did nothing differently.

    I have the same problem with missing grace templates. I tried the suggested fix but  see no reference to Grace
    in the plugins.

    I had this problem about a week ago, and did the uninstall and reinstall process.
    This fixed the problem but only temporarily, today I  opened CCS and was going
    to use Grace, but the templates are missing again. Please tell me where I am going
    wrong

    Hello Larry,

    can you give us more information? Which CCS version are you using, which Operating System, what are the steps to reproduce the problem?

    Also, don't be afraid to start a new thread if you have a question. It is difficult to track these "zombie" threads, since they are marked as already answered.

    I started  on  March 12th with CCS version 5.1. After downloading it. I tried following the getting started with grace tutorial. I  could not find the grace templates. (subject of a previous post). I deleted CCS  version 5.1 and installed CCS version 4.2, the templates

    Were present in that version.  I spent a lot of time learning the basics of navigating with CCS. Yesterday I again attempted following the Grace tutorial. The Grace templates were missing.

    I went to the “Grace quick start guide” and selected the legacy option for CCS version 4.2 and downloaded grace. At this moment the templates are present and Grace is working okay. I am using windows 7, and have no clue why this is happening

    Larry,

    Grace is not included in the CCSv4.2 release you downloaded. This is the reason why you did not see the templates.

    Since we do not update the Grace release for CCSv4.2 anymore, I highly recommend that you update to CCSv5.1, where Grace is included by default. The thread here started when CCSv4.2 was the latest release, so it does not apply to the problem you might have had with CCSv5.1.
