MSP430FR6047: HOW TO ENABLE ECC

Hi guys,

We had designed our custom board with MSP430F5438A. But we have noticed that this MCU doesn't have ECC.

So we decided to use MSP430FR6047 or MSP430FR5964

I just want to confirm that :

1) Are single-bit errors detected and corrected by the hardware automatically ?

2) Is multiple-bit errors enabled with only "UBDIE" field ?

Single bit errors are fixed as part of the normal FRAM write back operation since reads are destructive.

What happens on a multiple bit error is up to you. Either a NMI or reset. Or nothing.

It has been mentioned in other threads that some devices have undocumented enhanced error correction ability thanks to extra check bits.
