MSP430FR5728: Programming before reflow or hand soldering

Part Number: MSP430FR5728

Tool/software:

According to MSP430FR5728 datasheet, page 14, note 5,  "Programming of devices with user application code should only be performed after reflow or hand soldering". What happens if the programming is done before hand solder or reflow? Does this have any adverse effects? Can it still be done?

  • Because it exceeds the storage temperature and might cause programming errors. Note that the factory programmed data is

    "Factory programmed
information, such as calibration values, are designed to withstand the temperatures reached in the current JEDEC J-STD-020
    specification."
