Dear Experts,
we like to design Inductive Proximity Sensors following the app note TIDUAK9 (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduak9/tiduak9.pdf), what use the MSP430FR6989, actually the Launch Pad as demonstrator. But we would like to place that PCB into a M12 threaded tube, so the PCB is less then 9mm in width. The MSP430FR6989, used in the app note, comes in a TQFP100 package, what is too big. The smallest MSP430 with the Extended Scan Interface is VQFN64 (MSP430FR588x), still 9mm x 9mm.
A QFN48 package with 7x7mm, or something TSSOP would be great for this.
It is quite difficult to filter the MSP430 versions with the Extended Scan Interface, i just know MSP430FR6x8x and MSP430FR5x8x. The "Extended Scan Interface" is not a search parameter in the MCU list to limit the search. Would be great when such a variant exists in a smaller package. Low power is not needed, nor display, just the "Extended Scan Interface".
