MSP430F5340: CCS Workspace necessary?

Is there any problem not putting CCS projects in the CCS workspace folder?

I like to keep all PCB, schematic, FPGA, and microcontroller projects under our internal engineering project name folder. Keeps everything together under one directory tree.

It seems to work OK opening the CCS project from a directory other then the CCS workspace?

You can create a new workspace in your internal engineering project folder.

But does the folder need to be named: "workspace_v12"

Or can the folder be named something else?

It seems to work using my desired folder name but I can't get the project to work using the RELEASE .out file.

It works using the DEBUG .out file.

Yes, you can named other words.
