MSP430FR6043: LEA msp_status msp_cmplx_mpy_q15 issue

Hi team，

msp_status msp_cmplx_mpy_q15(const msp_cmplx_mpy_q15_params *params, const _q15 *srcA, const _q15 *srcB, _q15 *dst)

Does above function support an input width of 16 bits and an output width of 32 bits? If it can be modified, how should the interface be operated?

Is there any relevant document to explain?

Hi Jiahui,

No, it only support 16 bit. Modify the interface is also unworkable, it will involve the LEA module if the device have.

I will suggest you using the iq31 format library, refers to below link:MSP DSP Library: Utility.

The whole point of those fixed point routines is to throw away the extra bits.

Of course the hardware multiplier will do this.
